‘Silva’s 33 points’ leads GS Caltex to 3-1 win over IBK for second straight opening win
Women’s professional volleyball team GS Caltex has won its opening two matches in a row, led by a strong performance from foreign player Giselle Silva (nee Giselle).
GS Caltex defeated IBK Kookmin Bank 3-1 (25-22 15-25 25-22 25-20) in straight sets in the 2023-24 Dodram V League Women’s Division at Hwaseong Gymnasium 현금홀덤사이트 on Thursday.
GS Caltex won its second straight match after opening the season with a 6-1 record.
IBK, on the other hand, has lost three straight matches after failing to accumulate a single point in its opening three matches.
GS Caltex’s foreigner Silva led the way with a game-high 33 points for both teams. Kang So-hwi added 13 points and Yoo Seo-yeon nine.
For IBK, Brittany Abecrombie (real name Abecrombie) led the way with 30 points and Pyo Seung-ju had 13 points, but the team’s efforts faded in the loss.
GS Caltex held the lead in the first set before back-to-back errors tied the score at 21-21. However, Silva’s offense kept the lead, and after an opponent error, he scored three consecutive points to take set point. At 24-22, Silva struck again for a quick opener to take the first set.

With momentum on their side, GS Caltex closed out the match in the fourth set. From a narrow 17-16 lead, GS Caltex scored the next four points, including an attack point by Yoo Seo-yeon and a service ace by Han Soo-jin, to break IBK’s chase.
OK Financial Group defeated KB Insurance 3-2 (19-25 25-23 17-25 25-20 15-11) in a tight full-set match in the men’s competition at Uijeongbu Gymnasium.
With the opening two wins, OK Financial Group improved to 5 points. KB Insurance improved to 1-2 (3 points).
OK Financial led the offense with 29 points from gunslinger Leonardo Leyva Martinez (real name Leo), followed by Bayarsayhan with 11 points and Park Seung-soo and Chae Ji-hwan with nine points.
For KB Insurance, Andres Biyena (real name Biyena) scored a game-high 32 points but could not save his team.
Outside hitter Hwang Kyung-min scored 20 points, but the lack of depth cost them.
