The Samsung Lions of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) faced a major setback in their first game of the second half.
Samsung changed its starting pitcher from ace David Buchanan to right-hander Jang Pil-joon for its home game against the KT WIZ at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on April 21.
“Buchanan felt pain in his right knee after waking up this morning,” a Samsung representative said, “so we decided he was not in a position to pitch, so we made the change in a hurry.”
“We informed the opposing team, KT, and the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) and sought their understanding,” the official said.
Samsung will continue to monitor Buchanan’s recovery for the time being. He will not be removed from the first team roster.
“He’s had similar pain in the same area in the past,” the official said, “and it usually improves with rest.”
Buchanan has been Samsung’s ace since 2020. This season, he was also outstanding, going 7-6 with a 2.88 ERA in 17 games. 안전카지노사이트
