Hanwha’s Noh Si-hwan wins Sports Seoul 2023 Baseball Player of the Year Award
“Young Guns” Noh Si-hwan (23-Hanwha Eagles) won the grand prize of “Player of the Year” at the Sports Seoul 2023 Baseball Player of the Year Awards.
Noh stood tall as the brightest star at the ceremony, which was held at the Imperial Hall of the Elena Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on Oct. 30.
In the 2023 KBO regular season, Noh led the league in home runs (31) and RBIs (101).
He was also a key hitter for the young Korean National Baseball Team at the Hangzhou Asian Games and the Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC).
“I had a really meaningful season,” said Noh. “I’m grateful to the fans who supported me until the end, even though the team didn’t perform well. My goal is to become the best player in Korea and lead the team to the fall baseball season. I will do my best, so please look forward to it.”
Ko Young-pyo (KT WIZ) was named Pitcher of the Year. He appeared in 28 games this season, posting a 12-7 record with a 2.78 ERA.
Son Ah-seop (NC Dinos), who led the league in batting average (0.339) and hits (187), was named Hitter of the Year.
Moon Hyun-bin (Hanwha) became the first recipient of the inaugural “Our Own Superstar” award, which recognizes winners based solely on 100% fan votes.
The LG Twins, who won their first pennant in 29 years, continued their championship celebration by sweeping the Manager and Coach of the Year, Defense and Front Office awards, with Yoon Kyung-yeop, Lee Ho-joon, Park Hae-min and Park Hae-joon.
Moon Dong-ju (Hanwha) was named Rookie of the Year and Kim Taek-yeon (Incheon High) was named Amateur of the Year.
Kim Ha-seong (San Diego Padres), the first Korean to win a Major League Baseball Gold Glove, received a special award. 토토사이트
