Wimbledon winner Krajcikova jumps to No. 10 in women’s tennis world rankings
After winning the women’s singles title at this year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament, Barbora Krajcikova (Czech Republic) has become the 10th highest-ranked women’s tennis player in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
Krajicekova defeated Jasmine Paolini (ITA) 2-1 (6-2 2-6 6-4) in the women’s singles final at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, England, on March 13.
Krajcikova, who was ranked 32nd in the world before her victory, jumped to No. 10.
Already ranked as high as No. 1 in doubles, Krajcikova’s highest ranking in singles is No. 2 in 2022.
Paolini, the runner-up, moved up two spots from seventh to fifth.
Iga Cibiontek (Poland), Coco Goff (USA), Ariana Savalenka (Belarus) and Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) remain unchanged at No. 1-4.
On the men’s side, defending Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) remains at No. 3, while the No. 1 and No. 2 spots are held by Jannik Cinnere (Italy) and Novak Djokovic (Serbia).
Wimbledon quarterfinalist Alex Diminore (AUS) moves up from ninth to sixth, while quarterfinalist Lorenzo Musetti (ITA) falls from 25th to 16th.
Zhang Zhizhen (34th) and Zheng Chinwen (7th-overall China) were the highest-ranked Asian players.
