‘Lee Jung-hyun explodes for 43 points’ as SONO defeats Hyundai Mobis 100:82

Goyang Sono’s Lee Jung-hyun scored 43 points in the first game of the season to lead his team to victory.

SONO defeated the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis 100-82 on Tuesday at Dongcheon Gymnasium in Ulsan, South Korea, in the 2024-2025 KCC Pro Basketball Regular Season.

SONO won its first game of the season away from home behind a stellar performance from Lee Jung-hyun, who scored 43 points, 파워사다리 including six three-pointers, while adding seven assists and four steals.

New signing Lee Jae-do was held to just two points, but foreign players Alan Williams and D.J. Burns Jr. combined for 18 points to support Lee.

Hyundai Mobis had Lee Woo-seok (17 points) and Kim Kook-chan (16 points), but they couldn’t match Lee’s firepower.

In Suwon, home team Suwon KT defeated Seoul Samsung 72-63 to move to 1-1 on the season.

Coming off a 72-77 loss at home to Busan KCC the night before, KT was led by 17 points from Heo Hoon, who was held to five points against KCC.

Samsung, which has been at the bottom of the standings for three straight years, dropped its second straight game to open the season and slipped to the bottom 10 despite strong performances from Kofi Coburn (13 points) and Lee Won-seok (12 points).

Seoul SK won its home opener 95-71 against Anyang Jungkwanjang in a big way.

SK got 24 points from Ahn Young-joon, 19 points from Jamil Warney, and 16 points from Oh Jae-hyun, and dominated the Janggwanjang with speed, including a 19-2 advantage in fast break points and a 35-5 advantage in fast break points.

In addition to his 16 points, Oh had an Altoran-like performance with five assists, five steals, and four rebounds, including a three-point play early in the second quarter when the team trailed 21-28 and immediately followed it up with a steal on defense.

Led by Bae Byeong-joon’s 22 points, Jung Kwan-jang committed 18 turnovers, 10 more than SK (8), in a helpless loss.

All three stadiums in Seoul (5,207), Suwon (3,650), and Ulsan (4,756) sold out on the day.

On the 19th, the opening day of the season, Busan (6,661), Wonju (4,248), and Changwon (4,757) were well on track to reach the 1 million attendance mark.
