Kim Su-hyeon, who won the women’s 76kg title at the 2023 Asian Championships held in Jinju last year,

will compete in the 81kg class at this competition.

Kim Su-hyeon is also the silver medalist in the women’s 76kg class at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games held in 2023.

Weightlifting at the Paris Olympics includes five weight classes for men (61kg, 73kg, 89kg, 102kg, and over 102kg) and five weight classes for women 49kg, 59kg, 71kg, 81kg,

In order to compete in the 81kg class at the Paris Olympics,

At last year’s Jinju Asian Championships, Lee Won-won won, and Park Hye-jung and Son Young-hee took second and third places.

In the men’s division, Jin Yun-seong (Goyang City Hall) and Jang Yeon-hak (Asan City Hall) in the 102kg class are considered favorites for the championship.

At the 2023 Jinju Competition, Jin Yun-seong took second place and Jang Yeon-hak took third place,

but Nurgisa Adiretuli (Kazakhstan), who won at the time, tested positive for doping,

so Jin Yun-seong and Jang Yeon-hak were promoted to first and second places, respectively.

Jin Yun-seong and Jang Yeon-hak will compete for the championship in Tashkent as well.

Hangzhou Asian Games women’s 87kg class silver medalist Yoon Ha-je (Gimhae City Hall) and men’s 67kg class bronze medalist Lee Sang-yeon (Suwon City Hall) are also aiming for medals.
