Doosan Bears will begin preparations for next year’s season
The Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) will begin preparations for next year’s season in earnest.
Doosan announced on March 31 that it will begin its 2024 final training camp at Bears Park in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do from March 1-23.
The final training, which will be held on a four-day training and one-day rest regime, will include 39 players and the coaching staff under manager Lee Seung-yeop.
The roster includes players who played for the first team this season, including pitchers Park Chi-guk and Choi Won-joon, catcher Kim Ki-yeon, and infielders Kang Seung-ho and Lee Yoo-chan, 토토사이트 as well as pitcher Choi Joon-ho and outfielder Kim Dong-joon, who had a breakout season in Japan’s Miyazaki Education League in October.
A Doosan official said,
“The goal of the final training session is to build a healthy competitive structure for next season through intense four-day training. We will use it as an opportunity to improve the skills of our young players,” said a Doosan representative.
Doosan, led by Lee Seung-yeop, entered the fall baseball season ranked fourth this year, but fell victim to the first-ever five-team upset, losing a two-game series to KT in the wild-card decider. It was the second consecutive year they failed to qualify for the wild-card round.
After the season, the team did not re-sign first-team coach Park Heung-sik, hitting coach Kim Hans-soo, Futures team training coach Lee Kwang-woo, infield coach Kang Seok-chun, pitching coach Kim Sang-jin, and first base coach Jung Jin-ho, and began to revamp the organization.
